John Patrick Donovan - "Jack"

John P. Donovan - In Memoriam

In the early 20th century, Joseph “Norsa” Donovan was an up and coming boxer from South Boston, Massachusetts. However, his fiance had other plans and made him choose; her or boxing. Norsa made the right decision. He retired from boxing, started a family and went to work in the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office as a “fixer.” His most important fix was making sure the Southie Irish voted for his boss.

After work, Norsa would bring home court transcripts for his son to read. John Patrick Donovan (“Jack”), ironically, was born on St. Patrick’s Day in 1923. He fell in love with the law reading those transcripts. During World War II Jack was stationed on the island of Saipan in the Pacific theatre as a member of an Army Air Force bomber service squadron. After serving his country, Jack studied law and was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar.

For over 50 years Jack practiced law in Boston dedicated to the highest standards of the profession. He helped people from all walks of life resolve their legal problems with compassion, patience and understanding.

Jack had an insatiable passion for his family, justice and golf. He passed away in 2019. Jack is the leader in the clubhouse.

Donovan Legal PLLC endeavors to bring to south Florida the character, values and standards of practice Jack maintained throughout his career and life.
